Check Date and Time of SQL Server Installation

To find out the date and time of SQL Server Installation, run this query:

SELECT create_date
FROM sys.server_principals
WHERE sid = 0x010100000000000512000000

It is the date and time of creation of NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM login at the queried SQL Server instance, it is created when SQL Server is installed.

If you have installed SQL Server Evaluation version, you can find out what is the expiry date for it by running this query:

SELECT create_date AS Installation_Date,
DATEADD(DD, 180, create_date) AS Expiration_Date
FROM sys.server_principals
WHERE sid = 0x010100000000000512000000
GO

SQL Server evaluation period lasts for 180 days. This query adds 180 days to the initial installation date to calculate the Expiration Date.
